Backend site updated

Well, it has been quite a while. But I have just updated the whole site (which has a drupal backend) to the latest version. And updated all modules as well.

I was a little behind with some of the versions, but I now have all the latest running again. The weather is working again for example, but if there are any problems let me know!

A Little jealous, and a little sad.........

I got up this morning to say farewell and Bon Voyage to Bill and Sue Teasdale.

They where a couple who had a boat right across from me, and they have been working on getting their Jeanneau DS49 (Named Dilligaf) ready for the last few months.

So, they finally finished it and they left this morning on their grand 3 or so year adventure.

They are heading up to Alaska till about September, hoping to make it to Sitka. And than in September head down the coast to Mexico. And than where they land is anybody's guess!

Well, it make me a little jealous and a little sad for the same reasons! I mean they are where I want to be in the next few years. Ready to cast off, and take the great trip of a lifetime.

I wish them loads of fun, a voyage full of adventures and safe travels!

So if you see them out there, say hello!

And it really invigorated me to start working towards the same goal with renewed enthusiasm!

Here is to Bill and Sue!

You have to laugh!

I figured I do something nice, I looked out of my office today and I see the local blood drive bus right in front of my window. Hey I figure, I will go give blood. I have never done that before.

So in I go, fill out the form and go into for the little consult they have.

Turns out I can not give blood. I spend more than 3 months total in the United Kingdom between 1980 and 1996.

And why would that be a problem? Well they had an outbreak of Mad cow disease than. And there is a likelyhood I ate beef that might have been infected with it.

And since there is no test that can easily determine if I ate it, they disqualify _everybody_ that has been in the UK for more than 3 months in that time frame.

So much for wanting to be nice.

This is the general thread in my life it seems.

But if I truly ate to much beef with mad cow disease, it sure as hell would explain a lot!!!

:)

It is one of those kind of months!

It has been a while since I blogged, but it might become clear why I have been a bit busy.  :)

Sometimes you wake up and you realize how much stuff is going on in your life. And how much you do have, and even more importantly, how much you do not have. And then you get the awareness on how many of the assumptions you made so far where somewhat off.

I am looking to what has happened in the last month for example.

I finally decided to get surgery for a long and super annoying case of post nasal drip. Having never been under complete anesthetic in my life you can kind of imagine with what pleasure, joy and anticipation I was looking forward to for that event! This apparently is a process that takes about 75 minutes from start to finish. And can only be described as somebody shoving a roto-rooter up your nose with a very sharp grinding bit, let me tell you a joy!  An act you find out what the difference is between good friends, and those who claim to love you more than anything. I leave it up to the reader to figure out who took care of me after the procedure

Salient side note; Mother of RA, the noose can bleed like a bastard if you wake up from your anesthetic and you need to throw up! I did not think it was possible to bleed at a faster rate than you are throwing up at.

I had to fly to away for work, and then on the return trip this happens; Going through a divorce is not fun, and then getting served with papers as you come of the airplane late at night is in my opinion is an act of class that you just cannot train for. It is a level of class you must have been born with.

Many changes, some good some not sure

Welll I hit an interesting milestone last night!

My puppy (A 2 1/2 year old German Sheperd) came to live with me.

This was his first time ever on the boat so, I was a bit apprehensive about it.

And since he has not had a a lot of structure in the last few months and started to believe he was Alpha dog, I decided to have been get bootcamp training with two friends of mine who run a dog training company (www.thedogsavant.com). So I dropped him off last week for the first part of training bootcamp. And Pascale and Michael did miracle work!

And they dropped him off on the boat last night. And I have to say, it has been a extremly positive experience sofar!

He came down the stairs pretty much by himself after 5 or so minutes, and he has started working on going up the stairs by himself as well. A few more days of that and he should able to do it by himself.

Here is a picture I took this morning of him, it looks like he made the boat his own!

And he crawled up into the bed with me, snuggled right up and fell asleep till 9 am this morning. So I took him for an hour walk, saw many distraction. Joggers, other dogs and seagulls and he really did not care much. The amount of new stuff he has been processing has been very high in the last day. But he is doing amazing.

So as we came back, he had some water, and crawled right back into bed and went to sleep!

There have been many changes in my life in the last few months, and this is one of the most positive ones!

I missed the furry little bugger!
